Pansy Section come one of a number 1 queercore punk bands. It formed inside California in 1992.

Their foremost appearance come sustaining a release of the Outpunk Records compilation Outpunk Dance Party, to which it contributed a song "I Can't Sleep". Since this instance it use freed numerous singles & LPs, usually on the independent record label Lookout! Records, then on Alternative Tentacles.

Their todays lineup is bassist Chris Freeman, rhythm guitarist Jon Ginoli, lead guitarist Bernard Yin and drummer Luis. Ginoli, Goodwin & Luis 100% sing in various tracks. Previous drummer Dustin Donaldson left to form his own band I Am Spoonbender. Previous lead guitar player Patrick Goodwin left the band around 2003.

Virtually all of Pansy Section's songs tend to focus in various elements of gay life, particularly sex, usually within the humourous way. Although it develop their critics, a band managed to bring queercore into a spotlight after it were chosen by Green Day to open for them in the period of the united states wide tour of the U.S. Undoubtably, this was the foremost period numerous population were suspire to view a queer bum band performing survive.

Jon Ginoli & Chris Freeman come out in the documental motion-picture show Queercore: The Punk-u-mentary by Scott Treleaven, and talk all about existence around the queer band. Also, Pansy Section performs sleep in a film.
