Their foremost appearance come sustaining a release of the Outpunk Records compilation Outpunk Dance Party, to which it contributed a song "I Can't Sleep". Their todays lineup is bassist Chris Freeman, rhythm guitarist Jon Ginoli, lead guitarist Bernard Yin and drummer Luis. Ginoli, Goodwin & Luis 100% sing in various tracks. Previous drummer Dustin Donaldson left to form his own band I Am Spoonbender. Previous lead guitar player Patrick Goodwin left the band around 2003.

Virtually all of Pansy Section's songs tend to focus in various elements of gay life, particularly sex, usually within the humourous way. Although it develop their critics, a band managed to bring queercore into a spotlight after it were chosen by Green Day to open for them in the period of the united states wide tour of the U.S. Undoubtably, this was the foremost period numerous population were suspire to view a queer bum band performing survive.
